Construction on Foundation Square, a public park at the intersection of Greene and Lincoln streets, is underway. This project will be completed in multiple phases and will result in traffic detours.
Motorists are advised to be aware of the following:
- On Wednesday, July 15, SCE&G will close Greene Street from Gadsden Street to Park Street near the Colonial Life Arena. The section will reopen Aug. 1.
- The intersection of Greene and Lincoln streets will close for five days beginning Monday, July 20 and will reopen in time for the upcoming James Taylor concert.
Foundation Square is a planned public urban park near the Colonial Life Arena and will be for the enjoyment and benefit of the entire Columbia community. Improvements to the district will enhance overall quality of life in Columbia, making Innovista a more attractive place to live, work, learn and recreate.
Protected pathways will be available throughout all phases of construction to accommodate pedestrian traffic and enhance safety.
