Construction is underway on the expansion and upgrade of the student health center, a project that promises to offer students enhanced health and wellness services in one centralized campus location.

The project includes a new 68,000 square-foot building adjacent to the existing Thomson Student Health Center.  The facility will incorporate modern design elements and state-of-the-art technology to deliver a comfortable and holistic care experience to students. In addition to existing services, the center will provide expanded physical therapy, lab and x-ray services; counseling and psychiatric care; as well as a new eye care center.

The expansion is expected to be completed in the summer of 2017, but pedestrians and motorists in the area are asked to be mindful of the following changes:

  • The Bull Street Garage entrance has been moved closer to the intersection of Bull and Devine streets;
  • the small parking area on the south side of Callcott Social Science Center will remain closed during construction; and
  • the walkway between McBryde and the Thomas Cooper library will remain open, but pedestrians should stay on walkways and follow any posted signage.

Periodic updates on the construction project will be posted here to ensure the Carolina community remains informed of any additional changes.
