Community: The on-line USC Student Handbook and Policy Guide

Dear Carolina Gamecock:
The Carolina Community on-line is designed to provide you with
information concerning the many policies, procedures, activities, and opportunities that
exist here at Carolina. The handbook is produced through the efforts of the Division of
Student Affairs and Student Government. We hope that the handbook proves to be
a useful guide for campus life at USC.
Although we have made every attempt to summarize the aspects of student
life at Carolina, there is no way possible to sum up all of the experiences and
opportunities in these limited pages. Therefore, we encourage you to treat this handbook
as a starting point while you begin your experiences in your new community.
The Division of Student Affairs has provided an official
record of policies and procedures that affect students. The guidelines contained in this
publication apply to the University of South Carolina Columbia campus only. Some policies
have been summarized due to their length and are indicated as such. University Policies in
this manual may be identified by policy number and are located in their entirety via the
USC Web Site located at www.sc.edu.
It is the responsibility of each student to become aware of the
contents of the Carolina Community on-line.
