University of South Carolina Student Handbook and Policy Guide

Dear Carolina students:

Carolina Community, the University’s student handbook, is designed to provide you with information concerning the many policies, procedures, activities and opportunities that exist here at Carolina. We hope that it proves to be a useful guide for campus life.

Although we have made every attempt to summarize the aspects of student life at Carolina, there is no way possible to sum up all of the experiences and opportunities available to you. Therefore, we encourage you to treat this handbook as a starting point and to continue to explore campus through your University 101 seminars, advice from Carolina friends and alumni and guidance from your professors and advisers.

The Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support has provided an official record of policies and procedures that affect students. The guidelines contained in this publication apply only to the University of South Carolina Columbia campus. Carolina Community offers a general overview of University Policies; these policies may be identified by policy number and are located in their entirety and in their most current version via the USC Policies and Procedures Manual

It is the responsibility of each student to become aware of the contents of the Carolina Community. The university reserves the right to change these policies and procedures without notice.

Good luck in your endeavors here at the University of South Carolina. If we can assist you in any way, please contact our office at 803-777-4172 or
