Off Campus in Columbia, SC
Being a part of the University of South Carolina has as much to offer off campus as on campus.
There are plenty of recreational and cultural opportunities. Within ten minutes of campus, you can kayak one of three rivers – the Broad, Saluda, or Congaree, walk along the river at Riverwalk Park, hike through Congaree National Park, or visit the Riverbanks Gardens and Zoo.
If you are interested in art and culture, the Columbia Museum of Art has various things to offer. The South Carolina State Museum also hosts a variety exhibitions for art lovers.
Two of the most popular places in Columbia are the located in the downtown area: Five Points and the Congaree Vista. Five Points is known for its shopping, dining, nightlife and various activities that attract college-aged people to the area. The Congaree Vista offers a variety of boutiques, shops, over 60 restaurants, bars, and art galleries.
