The Department of Student Life has earmarked funds for UNIV 101 classes to support the advancement of University 101 course outcomes through out-of-class engagement, learning, and community development.
Community Building Fund activities will: occur outside of normal class time; foster community building among class participants; advance one or more of the other U101 course learning outcomes; and involve at least 50% of the class roster, including the instructor. Instructors are encouraged to work together to plan/organize joint activities to foster engagement among classes.
Instructors will select from a 'menu' of pre-determined events and activities for use of these funds. Please see the menu of eligible Community Building Fund activities for review. Transportation costs for large groups may be provided as part of the requested funds on a case-by-case basis.
