During the month of November…

Community Service Programs and Carolina Service Council sponsor Carolina Cares- a university-wide holiday drive. The following activities are how we encourage the Carolina community to provide our local community with the best holiday season ever.

Adopt-A-Family
In a partnership with the Nurturing Center, we will help provide at-risk families in Columbia with a Thanksgiving dinner the holiday season.  Please remember: *All food items are due to the Nurturing Center, 1332 Pickens Street!

Stocking Stuffers Stocking Stuffer Instructions
In a partnership with the Salvation Army, we help to collect stockings for children who otherwise may not receive anything. The stockings are free and it only takes a small donation of gifts to make a child’s holiday that much happier. Beginning in mid October you can pick up stockings in the Campus Life Center, room 227 in the Russell House. We will also provide you with a list of ideas for stocking stuffers. Stockings are due back to our office no later than November 19th, 2013.

The USC Tree Lighting Ceremony

On Tuesday, December 3, 2013 the university will celebrate the 59th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Come join the USC community- listen to the carolers and enjoy the beautiful festivities. The ceremony begins at 6pm. All are welcome!

Holiday Mail for Heroes
For a seventh year, American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are partnering to ensure all Americans have an opportunity to send a touch of home this holiday season to members of our U.S. military, veterans and their families, many of whom will be far away from home this holiday season. The process is very simple and takes no time at all – All you need is a pen and piece of paper to share your appreciation for the sacrifices members of the U.S. Armed Forces make to protect our freedoms. If you would like to pick up cards to sign, they are available in Russell House suite 227 (Campus Life Center). All cards are due to the Campus Life Center by (Fri.) Nov. 29, 2013.
