Applications
General Information
Unless otherwise noted below, awards are made for small (2-50), medium (51-150) and large (151+) chapters. All nominations should be limited to 1000 words and selection will be made on the criteria listed on the previous page. Nominations should describe why the person is outstanding, with 2-3 examples. Nominations are due by Friday, December 2, 2011.
Award Descriptions
Living the Ritual Award
This award is designed to recognize individual members who exemplify their chapter’s values and principles as described in their chapter’s ritual. This individual should also exemplify the values of our Greek community and challenge chapter and community members to do the same. The individual does not have to have held any office but someone that other members look to in regards to the values and principles of the organization.
Outstanding Greek Member
This award recognizes a Greek member for their outstanding and continued service to the Greek community; strong academics; significant campus and community participation; strong personal character; and a positive role model for 2011. The recipient should be widely known and highly regarded in the Greek community for their lasting contributions.
Chapter Loyalty Award
This award recognizes one person per chapter that contributes significantly to the betterment of their fraternity or sorority, who may not normally be recognized. One person per chapter will be recognized at the Greek Awards program.
Outstanding New Member
This award recognizes a new member of a fraternity or sorority (within their first year of membership) for their contribution to their chapter, the Greek Community, the University, and their potential for further leadership for 2011.
Outstanding Chapter President
This award recognizes a Chapter President who demonstrates outstanding chapter leadership, motivational ability, strong character, and high ideals. The recipient is a positive role model and has been a leader who has left the chapter in a stronger condition than when they took office. Presidents that completed their term during 2011 are eligible for this award.
Outstanding Chapter/Grad Advisor
This award recognizes a Chapter/Grad Advisor for their hard work and dedication toward improving their chapter and the Greek community for 2011.
Outstanding Faculty Advisor
This award recognizes a Faculty Advisor for their hard work and dedication toward improving their chapter, specifically in the areas of academic support and development, as well as the Greek community for 2011.
Outstanding House Corporation Board Member
The award recognizes a Greek House Corporation Board Member for their hard work and dedication toward improving their chapter and the Greek Community for 2011. Awards are made for an Outstanding Fraternity and an Outstanding Sorority House Corporation Board Member
Outstanding House Director
The award recognizes a Greek House Director for their hard work and dedication toward improving their chapter and the Greek Community for 2011. Awards are made for an Outstanding Fraternity and an Outstanding Sorority House Director.
