National Hazing Prevention Week

Tuesday, September 27

• Ritual Chairs and Risk Management Chairs engage in a Round Table discussion with Dr. Mari Ann Callais at 3 pm in the Russell House private dining room
• New Member Seminar “Ritual vs. Reality” by Dr. Mari Ann Callais at the Capstone Conference Room.  Sorority women will meet at 5 pm.  Fraternity men meet at 6:30 pm. Snacks will be provided. 

Wednesday, September 28

• Campus Awareness Day!  There will be a full-page ad in The Gamecock 
• Chapter presidents and Fraternity and Sorority Council officers will wear the National Hazing Prevention Week T-Shirt sponsored by Student Government, and chapter members will wear their jerseys
• ODK will provide pizza for give-a-ways on Greene Street with music all day, chapter members will hand out hazing prevention information and stickers
• Chapter presidents, new member educators and council officers will attend the President’s Dinner at 7 pm.  They will discuss the books purchased for each chapter president and council officers.  Fraternity men will be prepared to discuss Goat: A Memoir by Brad Land, and sorority women should be prepared to discuss Smashed: A Story of Drunken Girlhood by Koren Zailckas
• CD presentation will be distributed to each chapter president to share information about hazing prevention with their chapters.  Discussion questions will be provided.

Thursday, September 29

• Discussion of “Paper v. Real” at NPHC Committee meeting
