Student Awards & Scholarships
Caroliniana Awards
Recognizes senior students who have been the tireless, behind-the-scenes workers that every successful activity or organization needs. They are leaders through their actions and contributions to the Carolina community.
Carolinian Creed Champion Award
The Carolinian Creed Champion Award recognizes individuals who have made significant and extraordinary contributions to the Carolina community while embodying the Carolinian Creed. University of South Carolina-Columbia faculty, staff, and students may be nominated for the award. There will be one award recognizing a faculty/staff member and one to recognize a student. Nominations will be accepted until April 2, 2012. Please email your nominations to osc@sc.edu with the subject title: Creed Award. Please provide a short, detailed statement about the person you are nominating for the 2012 Carolinian Creed Champion Award. In your statement, please address the specific actions/contributions of the nominee that have influenced the Carolina community in terms of the five tenants of the Creed. Include contact information (name, email address, phone number, and classification for both the nominee and nominator).
Hall of Leaders Awards
To recognize leaders of major campus-wide student organizations, including the Association of African American Students, Garnet and Black Quarterly, Sorority Council, Fraternity Council, Carolina Service Council, The Gamecock, WUSC-FM, Student Government, Garnet Circle, Residence Hall Association, Carolina Productions, Campus Recreation, and Dance Marathon. Criteria include: outstanding leadership in the organization; significant contribution to the entire University of South Carolina community; and the ability to encourage and motivate others.

Jessica Horton Outstanding New Student Leader Award
Recognizes a first-year student who has contributed significantly to the Carolina Community through active involvement in co-curricular activities. This involvement indicates future success as a leader on campus.

Outstanding Student Organization Service Award
Recognizes student organizations that serve as role models to other organizations based on quality of service, amount of time and effort devoted to service projects, and the level of impact on the student population and the community. An organization is not eligible to receive this award during two consecutive years.
Outstanding Student Volunteer Award
Recognizes students who have made an outstanding contribution to the community and university through service.
Rosemary Broadway Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time student, undergraduate or graduate, who is actively involved in community service. Rosemary Broadway was an advocate of off-campus students and the award was established in her name to recognize service contributions by off-campus students. The recipient must be enrolled and present at the University of South Carolina – Columbia for the consecutive semester to be eligible.
Strom Thurmond/Steve Cannon Carolina Cares Scholarship
Recognizes a worthy undergraduate who has made significant contributions to the Carolina and surrounding area through community service. The recipient must be enrolled and present at the University of South Carolina – Columbia for the consecutive semester to be eligible.

Wilson-Kibler Bicentennial Award
Recognizes a student whose demonstrated leadership abilities and experience have contributed to student life. The recipient must be enrolled and present at the University of South Carolina – Columbia for the consecutive semester to be eligible.

T.O.A.S.T
(The Outstanding Achievement and Student Triumph) Recognition Breakfast Honors students who deserve recognition in any area of campus life. Any outstanding student can be nominated for excellence in the classroom; contributions to a student organization or university department/program; achievement in athletics or the arts, etc. This program is designed to honor those who may not otherwise be formally recognized. Nominators and recipients of the T.O.A.S.T are invited to the annual recognition breakfast on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 7:30am in the Russell House University Union Ballroom.

Faculty/Staff Awards
Advisor of the Year
The Advisor of the Year Award recognizes faculty and staff members in the Carolina community who are committed to supporting their student organization and fostering leadership abilities in students.
Outstanding Faculty or Staff Volunteer Award
Honors a member of the University of South Carolina faculty or staff for his/her outstanding contribution to the community and university through service.
Outstanding Service-Learning Award
Honors a faculty member who has integrated service-learning into their classes. Service-learning is the thoughtful integration of community service into academic study.
Ambassador of Service Award
Recognizes an individual at the Director, Chair, Dean or Executive levels of USC Administration for exemplary leadership and involvement in promoting and performing community service.
Community Partner Awards
Outstanding Service Professional Award
Honors a staff member from a local non-profit agency for their work with University of South Carolina students, faculty and staff. Nominations will be accepted from USC students, faculty, and staff. This is an attempt to recognize those individuals who work to serve our community every day.
