University of South Carolina Parent Updates – May 8, 2007

Carolina Parents,
Congratulations to you and your USC student on the success of another semester and another academic year! Exams are wrapping up and many students are leaving campus for the summer, while others will complete their undergraduate experience in just a few days.  Please let us know if we can be of assistance during this time of transition. 

*Moving Out
Just a reminder...students MUST move out of the residence halls 24 hours after their last exam, not on May 12 (unless they have an exam on Friday, May 11).  For more information, visit http://www.housing.sc.edu.

*Graduation and Commencement Information, May 11-12 For all commencement details, please visit the following site: http://registrar.sc.edu/html/graduation/

In an effort to help ease the parking congestion for Commencement at the Colonial Center, Parking Services will provide a shuttle service from two parking resources on campus.  Shuttles will run 2 hours before and 2 hours after the conclusion of Commencement. There will also be shuttle services during Commencement for guests that may want to leave early to go back to the garages.  Please visit the following site for helpful tips and a parking map:  http://www.sc.edu/vmps/commence.html

*Counseling and Human Development Center (CHDC) receives federally funded grant from Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration.  Please see the attached letter for more information.

Finally, our May edition of the Campus Link features adjustment tips for families when students move home for the summer, information about emotional intelligence, scholarships, and planning a stress-free move-out day!
