ideaPOP! is an award-winning in-house professional development conference sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support and hosted by the Professional Development Team. ideaPOP!’s content aligns with the ACPA/NASPA Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practioners, as well as with important trends and issues facing higher education and student affairs.
The 2014 conference will be held on Wednesday, May 14 in the Russell House University Union on the University of South Carolina-Columbia campus, will focus on Developing the Habits of Highly Effective Student Affairs Professionals, and will be highlighted by a keynote address from Dr. Eileen Hulme on innovation and thriving in higher education.
16 concurrent sessions on topics such as supervision, collaboration, onboarding new staff, leadership, technology, competency, wellness, and and work/life balance; 6 posters featuring research and assessment results; and a panel conversation with 5 leaders in student affairs will round out the conference.
