ideaPOP! 2013: Preparing Students to Thrive in the 21st Century
The national landscape for higher education calls for greater accountability for colleges and universities to provide meaningful educational experiences that support student success during college and after graduation. To do this, institutions must understand their students, in the aggregate, and as individuals, to provide the proper opportunities and interventions to ensure students graduate with the skills necessary for success. By understanding students, including their identities, challenges, interests, and goals, higher education professionals are prepared to develop meaningful opportunities, experiences, and support systems to promote student development, learning, and success during and beyond the college experience.
