Lost & Found

Lost & Found services are provided by the Russell House University Union at the University of South Carolina. We are located at the Information Center, 2nd floor, Russell House, 1400 Greene Street, Columbia SC 29208.  Inquiries can be made via this site, by phone at 777-3196, or in person.  The Lost & Found hours of operation are 7am-11pm Monday-Friday.

You can claim FOUND items at the Russell House Information Desk.  Found items are held for 30 days minimum at which time they are forwarded to USC Inventory Control.  Anyone claiming property at the Lost & Found area must show a Student ID or driver's license.

 


Procedures for handling Found (unclaimed) items.

1)     Any unclaimed FOUND items are considered property of the USC after 30 days.
2)     All items will be logged into the Lost & Found database.
3)     Items will be kept for a minimum of 30 days.
4)     Anyone claiming items must show a University ID or a driver’s license.
5)     ATM, credit, debit cards will be destroyed after a minimum of 30 days.
6)     USC IDs will be held for 1 day and then taken to the Carolina Card Center.
7)     Keys for on-campus residence halls will be taken to Housing, 1215 Blossom Street.
8)     Any other unclaimed items after a minimum of 30 days. will be sent to USC Inventory
        Control and will be subject to their policies and procedures for handling unclaimed items. 
        They can be reached at 777-2156.
9)     If items are received from another area on campus they will be subject to these same
        procedures.
