ADVISORS
Academic
advisors at USC are an integral part of the lives of both
international and study abroad students and play an important
role in the internationalization of the campus. Undergraduate
study abroad participation at USC has increased by approximately
83% over the past two years - and this could not have happened
without your support and contributions. Advisors are not only
valuable resources for prospective study abroad participants,
but they are instrumental in promoting overseas study
opportunities which enhance the higher education experience for
USC students.
The Study Abroad
staff works closely with academic advisors to ensure that
students who plan to study abroad receive the support and
approval to do so. All students can benefit from studying
abroad by gaining valuable knowledge and skills integral to
their undergraduate degree and their future career. Early
planning is essential for an international experience that will
translate into academic achievement and personal success for
each student. Therefore, should advisees express interest in
international issues, study abroad or travel, please refer them
to the Study Abroad Office. Ideally, students should visit the
Study Abroad Office during their freshman or sophomore year.
