ADVISORS
The Study Abroad
staff works closely with academic advisors to ensure that
students who plan to study abroad receive the support and
approval to do so. All students can benefit from studying
abroad by gaining valuable knowledge and skills integral to
their undergraduate degree and their future career. Early
planning is essential for an international experience that will
translate into academic achievement and personal success for
each student. Therefore, should advisees express interest in
international issues, study abroad or travel, please refer them
to the Study Abroad Office. Ideally, students should visit the
study abroad office during their freshman or sophomore year.
Designed to
assist you when advising for study abroad, the following pages
include a basic step-by-step guide to
academic advising for study abroad and a
Study Abroad Timeline. Also
included is an international Credit
Conversion Guide, with
U.S. credit equivalencies for our partner institutions, as well
as a Forms section, comprised of
essential forms related to academic advising for study abroad.
Please contact the Study Abroad Office should you have any
questions about program options, the application process, or
international credit transfer. The staff also welcomes ideas
for ways we can better support your work.
The study abroad
office is located in the Byrnes Building, Suite 119. Any of the
