SEC Global Leadership Scholarship Program: Belfast, Northern
Ireland
The Southeastern Conference Global Leadership Program for
study and service-learning in Northern Ireland is a
competitive $8,500 scholarship awarded to one student from
each Southeastern Conference (SEC) institution. This
prestigious award will give the student the special
appointment of representing the University of South Carolina
throughout the semester while engaging in study and service
at Queen’s University Belfast.
As a study abroad participant, you will have the opportunity
to enjoy the laid-back, yet politically and economically
intriguing culture of Northern Ireland. You will take
coursework at Queen’s University Belfast as well as
participate in a service-learning project in Northern
Ireland. The program will run from January 2010 – June

To Apply:
USC undergraduates and graduate students who wish to apply
for the SEC Global Leadership Scholarship Program in Belfast
must submit their application materials directly to the
Study Abroad Office. Following is a checklist to help you
maneuver through the application process. Please click on
the links below to access the forms required for the
application. All forms must be typed, then printed, and
submitted to the Study Abroad Office before
5:00 p.m. on April 1 to be considered for the
scholarship program.
