American-Scandinavian Fellowship
Eligibility: Research or study
for a well-defined research or
study project that makes a
stay in Scandinavia essential.
Applicants must have completed their
undergraduate education by the start of the project. Priority is given to
candidates at the graduate level for
dissertation-related study or research.

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships for Advanced Asian Language
Eligibility: Awarded for study
of the principal modern languages of East and
Southeast
Asia
for individuals pursuing an academic, professional, or business
career
that involves the regular use of such languages. Applicants must have a
college undergraduate degree and be at or near an advanced
level in the
language.

Critical Language Scholarships
Eligibility:
Graduate or Ph.D. student with interest in intensive Arabic,
Bangla, Hindi,
Punjabi, Turkish, or Urdu language study
during the summer.
Recipients of
these scholarships are expected to continue
language study beyond the
scholarship period and later apply language
skills in professional careers.

German Academic Exchange Service Scholarships
Eligibility:

EPA Marshall Scholarships
Eligibility: Offers
graduate level fellowships for up to five years of study,
with two years at
a university/college in the UK through a
Marshall Scholarship and up to three
years more support in
either the UK
or the US.
Fields of Study: Supports research in
environmentally-related fields

Awards: The Marshall Commission
will pay for the first two years spent at a
university/college in the UK, and the EPA will pay for up to three additional
years of study, which can be spent in the UK or the US, providing this research

Fulbright Grants
Eligibility:
Available to graduating seniors
and graduate students who present a clear
program
of study to be carried out in a particular academic setting
abroad. The
grants provide for either one year of
research/advanced study or a one-year
English teaching
assistantship in a foreign country. Fluency in the host
language is
preferred in most fields of research and in some teaching
assistantship programs. A strong background in American
culture and current
events of the host country are critical in selection. Preference is
given to
applicants who have not resided or studied in the country
to which they are
applying for more than six months.

National Flagship Language Program
Eligibility:
U.S. citizen at the time of application; must have minimum
proficiency
in the appropriate foreign language of advanced low as
defined by ACTFL or
level 2 as defined by ILR; must have excellent skills in
English, and an
undergraduate degree at the start of the NFLP Fellowship.
May not be a current
government employee. Born from the National Security
Language Initiative
(NSLI), the objective of the award is to provide
funding for select U.S. citizens
who are highly motivated to
work for the federal government in an area related to U.S.
national security.

Security Education Program (NSEP)
David L.
Boren Graduate Fellowships
Eligibility:
U.S. citizen at the time of application; must be enrolled
in, or applying to,
a
graduate degree program at the master’s or doctoral level at an accredited
U.S.
college or university located within the United States.
The purpose of the award
is to provide students with the
opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of less
commonly taught languages and cultures critical to national
security. For
those
in fields less likely to include an
international focus, the Fellowship may be
used to add an
international component, usually language and area studies
courses, alone or in combination with overseas study. Study
outside of the U.S.
is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Rhodes
Scholarship
Eligibility:
Normally for two years of study at the University of Oxford
in the United
Kingdom. Candidates must be 18-23
years old, have senior
standing, superior
academic ability, a history of service
and leadership, and be

global issues. Candidate’s
undergraduate program must provide a sufficient
basis for
further study
in the proposed field.

Taiwan
Scholarship Program
Eligibility:
Available for graduate or Ph.D. study at a

Taiwan for five
years at most. Applicants must have an
outstanding academic record, and be
of good character; must

overseas Chinese students or foreign students
concurrently holding Taiwan
nationality; must not be exchange students, nor
be
in receipt of any
other scholarships from any other Taiwan government
