Annual Leadership
and Service Awards Ceremony
The Office of Student Involvement and
Leadership will be hosting the Annual Leadership and Service Awards
Ceremony. This ceremony is designed to recognize outstanding
students on campus exemplifying leadership and community service.
Students can download applications and nominations and they may be
nominated for awards by faculty, staff, or other students.
Several awards will be given in community
service and leadership, some of which include the Caroliniana Award,
which recognizes senior students who are leaders in the Carolina
community; the Advisor of the Year Award, which recognizes faculty
and staff in the Carolina community; and the Outstanding Student
Volunteer Award, which recognizes students who have made an
outstanding contribution to the community and university through

All nominations must be made by 5 p.m.
Thursday, March 6, 2008. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 6:30
p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 in the Russell House Ballroom.

2008 USC Award for Outstanding Freshman Advocate
The Outstanding Freshman Advocate Award selection committee is currently
soliciting nominations for the 2008 award. The Outstanding Freshman Advocate
Award recognizes individuals who have made significant and extraordinary
contributions to the academic or professional development and/or personal lives
of first-year students. USC faculty, staff, and students may be nominated for the
award.
You are invited to nominate a faculty member, administrator, staff member, or
student who you feel greatly contributes to and positively impacts the first-year
experience at USC. Any member of the USC community can submit a
nomination online at: http://sc.edu/univ101/award/
On the nomination form, you will be asked to write a detailed statement about the
person you are nominating. Please be sure to be descriptive and thorough in
your statement to ensure that your nominee gets the fullest and highest possible
consideration for the award. Nominations must be submitted no later than
February 11, 2008.
