Insurance & Billing
The Business Office accepts payment by cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and the Carolina Card. Payment is expected at the time of service.
Our on-campus pharmacy processes claims for most insurance plans.
Student Health Services can file claims for services rendered with the University-sponsored health plan, AIG, and most other insurance carriers. We are not in-network for any insurance provider except the University-sponsored health plan. At this time we cannot file claims with Medicaid or Medicare. For questions regarding insurance claims filing, please call the business office at 803-777-3174.

Students are allowed a $300 vision care benefit per policy year. A $20 office visit will apply.
AIG will reimburse 100 percent of R&C preventative services. This includes a yearly bite-wing x-ray, oral exam limited to two per policy year, biopsy of oral tissue and Prophy-Adult – limited to one procedure per six month period.
Paid the same as any other sickness.
Students may log in to their account with AIG at www.studentinsurance.com and under “Student Options,” print, request a replacement card or have a card emailed to the email address on file with AIG.
Carry your insurance card with you at all times in case of an emergency.
**Students will be responsible for paying vision and dental providers at time of service and can then bring their paid receipts and walk-out statements to the Business Office at the Thomson Student Health Center for filing with AIG. AIG will reimburse the students for vision and dental appointments.
