The internship is a full-time; 12 months staff
position beginning August 1 and carries a minimum
stipend of $20,500 plus access to health insurance
benefits. The interns receive 15 vacation days, 15
days of sick leave, state holidays, and may request
professional leave for conferences.
The Setting
The University of South Carolina has over 25,000
students on the Columbia Campus; almost a third are
graduate or professional students. The attractive
Columbia campus covers 242 acres. The university
sponsors two cultural series, theatrical and dance
seasons, films, music events, and lectures. USC has a
diversity of recreational facilities and athletic
events.
Columbia is the capital of South Carolina. The average
annual temperature is 63.3 degrees, and Columbia is two
and one-half hours from the coast and the Blue Ridge &
Smokey Mountains. There are a wide variety of cultural
events including the 7 local theater groups that present
season performances.
