Have you ever wanted to train for a 5K but didn’t want to do it alone? GOTM now includes three meet-up sessions.
Join Campus Wellness’ Gamecocks on the Move (GOTM) program—a free USC faculty, staff and student walking and running program that provides individuals with the resources and support to train for a 5K. This program is not a running club but now includes three meet-up sessions where individuals can find accountability partners, support and motivation.
Each fall and spring semester, GOTM will participate in one 5K race. While there are no fees associated with GOTM, the races typically require registration fees.
During the Fall of 2014, GOTM will train for the October 18, 2014, Palmetto Health Walk for Life/Race for Life. You can register as “GOTM-Gamecocks on the Move” on the Palmetto Health registration page. There is a fee associated with this race. GOTM will run/walk as a team during this race to promote breast cancer awareness. Training for the 5K event will start on September 15, 2014 (5 weeks before the Palmetto Health Walk for Life/Race for Life).
Each group session will be 30 minutes in length (15 minute education and 15 minute walk session). The dates, times and topics are below. Pre-registration for the group sessions are required when you register for GOTM.
