“Silent Witness” is an awareness campaign
adapted from a national program that focuses on domestic
homicide. Red cardboard silhouettes are used to
represent adults who have died at the hands of violence.
Placed on the front of each silhouette is a true story
of peoples’ direct and indirect experiences with
domestic violence. The goals of the Silent Witness
Project are to bring sexual assault and domestic
violence stories into public view, to inspire others to
get involved to end the violence, and to inspire people
to create a critical mass that will ultimately bring
about change. The silhouettes will be placed around
USC’s campus during Creed Week, October 6-10.
Student organizations and academic classes may sponsor a
silhouette by completing the registration form on the
reverse side of this flyer. SH&VP will provide the
supplies needed to create your silhouette. Your group
will personalize the figure, which will then be
displayed around campus during USC’s Creed Week. You can
be as creative as you desire! For more information on
this project or to learn more about SH&VP services,
