Sexual Health & Violence Prevention and Research is
dedicated to quality service for students, at the
University of South Carolina. Our mission is to offer
highly visible, convenient, and accessible programs and
services which enable students to live at high levels of
wellness and live in an environment which is safe to
achieve their academic goals and aspirations.
In order to attain this mission, we design our programs
and services to create a balance of physical, emotional,
social, intellectual, spiritual, and sexual health that
encourages students to respect the dignity and rights of
others, while developing a strong sense of their
personal self-esteem and development. Areas of emphasis
include but are not limited to building healthy
relationships, developing communication skills, reducing
interpersonal violence, and promoting sexual health.
To achieve our mission, the staff at Sexual Health &
Violence Prevention promotes a team approach to
comprehensive health education through partnership with
campus organizations, University departments and
academic schools, as well as community organizations. We
continually strive to make a positive difference in the
USC community by addressing the needs and interests of
diverse student populations. |
