Ketamine Hydrochloride

  • Used as a general anesthetic for humans & animals
  • Affects senses, judgment, & coordination
  • Separates perception from sensation (dreamy feeling)
  • Numbness in extremities
  • Nausea, increased heart rate (low doses), depresses consciousness and breathing (high doses)
  • Hallucinations can occur and last 1 hour or less (known as the "K-Hole"). Very difficult to move during the "K-Hole" period. Overall, hallucinogenic effects can last for several days.
  • Effects begin within 10-20 minutes
  • Can be lethal when combined with alcohol
  • Dosage effects are body weight, height dependent -- lethal if dose is too high
  • Causes addiction/psychological dependence & mental disorders
  • Can be obtained for as little as $10/gram
