What is the purpose of becoming a
SHARE
Peer Educator at the University of South Carolina?
- Increase the community’s knowledge about contraception,
pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infections,
safer sex practices, and other sexual health issues
- Provide information regarding sexual assault prevention,
address rape myths, and examine the impact of sexual
assault on our University community
- Provide information regarding relationship violence and
healthy relationships.
Activities and Programs of S.H.A.R.E.:
- Facilitate workshops in University 101 classes;
- Present workshops for residence halls, Greek
organizations, and other campus groups
- Organize awareness campaigns such as The Clothesline
Project, World AIDS Day, These Hands Don't Hurt, Sexual
Responsibility Week, Hopelights, Health Expos, and
others.
- In order to facilitate workshops for University 101
classes and student organizations, S.H.A.R.E. Peers must
enroll in a three credit course that is offered each
Spring semester through the School of Public Health.
