Referrals and Care from Community Providers

patients need care or services that are not available at
TSHC, they will be referred to a community provider of
their choice. Students are responsible for payment of
all community provider health care charges.
Charges
The Health Fee and Provider Charges: Payment of the
Health Fee portion of the University Fee allows students
to see providers at TSHC and CHDC at no charge.
Full-Time students: During the Fall and Spring
Semesters, the Health Fee is included in the established
University Fees paid by all full-time students
(undergraduates taking 12 or more hours and graduate
students and professional students taking 9 or more
hours) and graduate assistants.
Part-Time students: Fall and Spring semester part-time
students do not pay established University Fee and
Health Fees, but are eligible for care and services at
TSHC and CHDC on a fee-for-service basis. Part-time
students pay for provider visits when they visit TSHC or
CHDC. Fall and Spring semester part-time students taking
more than five hours but less than full-time hours may
pay the Health Fee on an optional basis. Optional
payment of the Health Fee entitles part time students to
TSHC and CHDC provider care at no charge.
During Maymester and Summer sessions, the Health Fee is
included in the tuition and fees paid by all enrolled
students.
Other TSHC and CHDC Charges: All patients pay for
ancillary services and various procedures on a fee for
service basis. For example, all patients are charged for
x-rays, lab test, pharmacy services, and physical
therapy. There are also charges for other services, such
as immunizations, minor surgery, specialized testing,
and physical examinations. Charges are based on
economical student fee schedules. Students are welcome
to inquire about charges in advance, and can review
approved fee schedules at TSHC and CHDC. Students who do
not have funds to pay at the time of service may charge
the service to their student account. Student account
charges must be paid prior to the end of each academic
period.
