- Peer Health Educators
This peer student organization is housed within Student Wellness Promotion. Students are educated and trained on topics including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, body image, tobacco prevention, and multicultural health issues. Peer Health Eductors then provide education and screening services to their fellow students.
- Sexual Health Awareness & Rape Education (SHARE) Peers
SHARE members facilitate presentations and outreach campaigns on topics of healthy relationships, sexual health, and sexual assault. In addition, Changing Carolina is a peer program designed to engage men in dialogues about masculinity and how they can take an active role in reducing relationship violence.
- Students Educating on Emotional Development (SEED) Peers
SEED is a peer education group for students interested in facilitating outreach programming and class presentations on topics related to emotional and mental health. These topics include stress management, grief and loss, anxiety, relationship issues, conflict resolution and effective communication.
- First Responders
First Responders are students and staff who respond to urgent medical calls on campus and have completed training required to become an Emergency Medical Technician in the state of South Carolina.
- Gamecocks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol and Other Drugs (GAMMA)
GAMMA is a student organization advised by the Substance Abuse Prevention and Education office. Members promote awareness on issues of use and non-use of alcohol and other drugs among USC students.
- Student Health Advisory Committee
This committee is comprised of student leaders from peer health organizations and Student Governement. This group reviews policies and plans for Student Health Services and makes appropriate recommendations to the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Executive Director of Student Health Services.
