    • Who is this and why are you calling me?
      The FYCC calls all first-year students to remind them of important dates, check their satisfaction, and answer any questions they may have.
    • How do I become a caller?
      If you are a rising sophomore, you can apply online before the application deadlines

    Academics

    • I need help in my _______ class. Where can I get that?
      Every college or school is different in their requirements to change majors. However, here is a tip sheet on how to begin he process of changing your major.
    • How do I change my major?
      USC and the Student Success Center offer a number of resources including the Supplemental Instruction, Tutoring, and ACE mentors.
    • Who is my advisor?
      Again, most colleges and schools differ in their advising styles. You can log on to VIP and check in the Academics section to learn who your advisor is. You can also contact your school or department for specifics on how advising is handled.
    • How do I register for summer or Maymester classes?
      Students need to meet with their advisor and mention they are interesting in taking a summer course.
    • How many hours do I need for Financial Aid?
      A student is considered full-time and eligible for financial aid when taking 12 credit hours. However, specific scholarships(such as LIFE) may have other requirements.

    • What kind of student organizations are there for me?
      USC offers over 300 organizations for students. You can find information at the Student Life website: http://web.sa.sc.edu
    • What is the deadline to renew my housing contract, and how do I do that?
      Students can renew housing contracts through VIP. Deadlines and other info can be found on the housing website at http://www.housing.sc.edu/signuprocess.asp.
    • Where do I get football tickets?
