Adam Protheroe, the lead housing attorney with South Carolina Legal Services, also spends time on USC’s campus in Student Legal Services to advise and represent students in civil legal cases including landlord/tenant disputes, housing, consumer protection, probate law, domestic relations and employment law. Student Legal Services at USC began in August 2013.
At South Carolina Legal Services, Adam represents eligible clients in civil legal matters with a focus on consumer and housing cases, which includes subsidized housing, landlord/tenant disputes, evictions, tax sales, foreclosure defense, contract and warranty disputes, car sales, collection defense and consumer bankruptcy. Previously, Adam worked at the S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs.
Adam earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
