Student Legal Services
In partnership with South Carolina Legal Services (SCLS), we are pleased to offer the following consultations and educational programming to fee-paying students on the following matters:
• consumer protection
• probate law
• domestic relations
• employment law
Issues that cannot be discussed with the attorney include personal injury, real estate law (except landlord-tenant), commercial law, alcohol and substance abuse violations, malpractice claims, criminal defense, immigration and tax work. Under no circumstances will consultations or representation be provided in disputes against USC, its officials and employees or other USC students. Students with these types of concerns will be referred to the South Carolina Bar Lawyer Referral Service.
To initiate the intake process please call 777-6611 and you will be forward directly to SCLS. Students must be currently enrolled and will need to present their Carolina Card at each visit.
Students can schedule appointments on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The office is located inside the Russell House West Wing on the lower level, room 044.
For matters outside of our scope of services, students will be referred through the South Carolina Bar Lawyer Referral Service.
Funding provided by the campus activity fee. For general legal information, visit www.lawhelp.org/sc.
