New student ticketing system
in the new year
Students at the University of South Carolina can officially say
goodbye to standing in long, early-morning lines for basketball and
football tickets. The beginning of the semester has brought
students a new, easier access to tickets as the University launched
the online student ticketing system
TicketReturn™.
The new era in student ticketing began this weekend as about 500
students scanned their print-at-home ticket for the men’s and
women’s basketball games against the University of Tennessee.
Through TicketReturn™, eligible, fee-paying students are able
to log on to
www.ticketreturn.com/sc, where they can request tickets and
print them directly to their own printers. The new system also will
allow students to accumulate loyalty points and seniority points
that will increase their chances of obtaining tickets for
high-profile games, which have previously been distributed through
lotteries. During each game’s ticket distribution period, students
are able to request tickets on the University’s
TicketReturn™ Web site. The
system will ensure equitable distribution of tickets by
automatically setting up a loyalty based distribution when student
requests for tickets exceed the ticket supply.
Students who are unable to attend a game for which
they’ve already requested and claimed a ticket are able to return
that ticket to the system, where it will be released for
distribution to another student. Students will not be penalized if
tickets are canceled before the game.
Based
in Charlotte, TicketReturn™, LLC,
is a leading national provider of adaptive ticketing software,
access control systems, and Internet-based event marketing services.
The company’s primary markets include stadiums, arenas, and theatres
operated for the benefit of colleges and universities, professional
sports, and the performing arts. For more information, please visit
www.ticketreturn.com.
The next request period begins tomorrow Thursday, January 17 for the
women’s game against the University of Kentucky. The next request
period for men’s basketball begins on January 23 for the game
against the University of Georgia.
