As coordinator for Student Government, Theresa Sexton provides support to the student leaders in Student Government and Graduate Student Association. She conducts training for elected and appointed leaders and assists with many student-led programs, including Freshman Council, student body elections, Carolina Convoy, voter registration drives and Constitution Day. She also advises a committee of students who plan Pillars, an extended orientation program for incoming students.
Before coming to USC in 2009, Theresa was the program coordinator the Gender Relations Center at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to that position, she was a stay-at-home mom and community volunteer for more than 20 years.
In 2010, Theresa received the New Staff Award given by the USC Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support.
Theresa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, playing tennis and golf and scuba diving. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of South Bend and a member of the Woodcreek Farms Women’s Association and St. John Neumann Church.
