Garnet & Black magazine is Student Media's newest print publication, formed in 1994 as a consolidation of the University's former yearbook and literary magazine. This student magazine focuses on the issues of general interest to the Carolina community and includes a literary section featuring student literary and other creative work. The magazine is distributed free to numerous locations in the Carolina community.

Interested students are invited to join the staff and work in areas such as writing, editing, photography, underwriting, marketing, layout, design, production and distribution.
