How do
I configure Outlook?
There are two
options for configuring your outlook mailbox:

Setup Outlook
Automatically
If you have never used Outlook on your
computer,
this is the method to use.
Make sure that you know you USC network
username and password, because you will be
asked for it to access the webpage. (for
users who do not have an outlook profile)

Setup
Outlook Manually - Instructions below
To login to
your Outlook email account an Outlook profile
must be created. If you login to multiple
computers, a profile must be created on each
computer per your login account. If
multiple people login to 1 computer, a profile
must be created for each user per their
accounts.

Browse to Start\Control Panel\Mail or
Start\Control Panel\User Accounts\Mail

Click the “Show Profiles” Button

Click the “Add” Button.
-
Name the Profile, example: “exchange”
-
Click “Ok”.

Check the “Manually configure server
setting or additional server types” and
Next.
-
Select Microsoft Exchange Server and
Next.

Enter CAE145EVSP01.ds.sc.edu in the
Microsoft Exchange Server field.

Enter the USER NAME for the profile
being setup in the User Name filed.

Uncheck
“Use Cached Exchange Mode.”

Click the “More Settings” button
-
Click “ok” when you get a prompt that
“Outlook cannot logon”.

Click “ok” when the next screen pops
up
-
Check “Connect to my Exchange mailbox
using HTTP”.

Click the “Exchange Proxy Settings”
button.

Enter web.mail.sc.edu in the
https:// field.

Select Connect using SSL only.
-
Select to connect using HTTP first
for both slow and fast
networks.

Select Basic Authentication for the
proxy authentication setting.

Click “Ok”.

Click “Ok”.
-
Click “Next”.
-
Click “Finish”.

You can choose the “Always use this profile”
setting under the general mail settings if
you always want to use a particular exchange
profile.

Login
to Outlook using “ds\username” and their
password
