Move-In Weekend Details

Avoid Delays and Long Lines!

Move-in during the suggested time for your hall and floor. The first digit in your room number will indicate which floor you have been assigned to. Don’t panic if you can’t move in during your designated time. If you can’t, we would suggest waiting until after 2 p.m. Don’t rush though! You can pick up your keys until 9 p.m.

Pick Up Your Key

You can pick up your key at your residence hall on Move-In Weekend unless noted in the chart below. You will need your CarolinaCard to pick up your key and yes, you will have to get your key. Mom and Dad can’t do that for you!
You should go to your room immediately to inspect it and complete your Room Condition Report prior to moving in. If you arrive to campus Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22, you will pick up your key at the Campus Office for your residence hall.

Unload Your Belongings

Be on the lookout for your official move-in parking pass in late July. If you want to use the designated 20-minute unloading zones near the entrance to your hall, you must display your pass. Plan ahead! You can only have one vehicle in the unloading zone at one time so pack your car with this in mind.

Parking Your Car

You will be required to park your car(s) in long-term parking on Move-In Day once you’ve unloaded your belongings. In most cases, you will be directed to a parking garage or lot near your hall. There are size limitations in the garages, so keep that in mind if you plan to bring a U-Haul truck or trailer.
