Diana Jeanne Marino- 2005 Outstanding Woman of the Year at
USC
On
Tuesday, March 29th the Outstanding Woman of the Year was
announced at the Outstanding Women of USC (Columbia)
Celebration. This award was established to recognize students
for their academic, service, leadership, and co-curricular
accomplishments. This year’s award recipient is Diana Jeanne
Marino.
Diana is a Public Relations major and will be graduating this
upcoming May. She is a member of the Honors College, Vice
President of Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, Kappa Delta
Epsilon Education, and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies. Diana
was awarded the Order of the Gamecock, which is given to a
senior that exemplifies the ideals of Carolina.
Her co-curricular involvement is outstanding. She has served as
a University 101 Peer Leader and was on the Varsity Swimming and
Diving Team 2001-2002. Diana is currently in the Teaching
Fellows Program, Carolina Alumni Association, and a member of
Chi Omega Sorority. Some of the community service endeavors she
has participated in includes, serving as a tutor and mentor at
the Saluda River Academy for the Arts, Richland Northeast High
School, AC Moore and Pinckney Elementary Schools.
Courtney Worsham, Chapter Advisor for Chi Omega Sorority,
Incorporated stated that “Diana is an outstanding student with
high morals, an extraordinary work ethic, enthusiasm for her
field, and commitment to the Carolina community. All of Diana’s
accolades are laudable and noteworthy; however, it is her
character and commitment that truly distinguish her from her
peers.”
