3/27/12- Christina Galardi, a Lexington, S.C., senior who has led the Carolina Service Council effort to give back to the community while maintaining a 4.0 GPA, was named the University of South Carolina’s Outstanding Woman of the Year for 2012.

3/16/12- He contacted Soles4Souls, a Nashville, Tenn.-based charity that collects shoes from warehouses of footwear companies and regular people’s closets. The charity delivers the shoes to people in need – more than 17 million pairs have been distributed to about 127 countries since 2005. The shoes end up in places such as Kenya, Thailand, Nepal as well as the U.S. The group’s motto: “Changing the world one pair at a time.”
