An education major, an accounting major and an electrical engineering major walk into commencement. No, this is not the beginning of a joke. But rather the story of Allison, Joe and Katy Harden, a set of triplets who came to Carolina, where each found a different path to graduation.

Jen Hodshon wants to work with students who need her the most. The elementary education major will get that chance this fall after getting a two-year appointment to Teach for America.

For years, University of South Carolina students have dedicated hundreds of hours to community service, worked as peer leaders, studied abroad and completed research as undergraduates. Now, nearly 100 of these students will make up the first class to graduate with leadership distinction.
