Queer Connections: LGBTQ+ First Year Experience Program

Queer Connections is an event series geared toward LGBTQ+ students who are new to the University of South Carolina and seeks to create opportunities for them to make connections with other Queer/Trans students, faculty and staff. Additionally, it seeks to provide a space of support for college’s unique challenges that affect LGBTQ+ students in different ways.

Queer Connections Opening Social
Thursday, Sept. 7

Join us for Queer Connections! Make connections with other students, professors, and staff members while grabbing a snack and learning about all of our resources at U of SC! Student organizations, campus and community resources, academic departments, supportive students, faculty and staff will attend to help you make great connections and form community on campus.

Queer Connections: Beating the Semester Slump
Wednesday, Oct. 11
4-6 p.m. | Intersection Multicultural Lounge

This month’s Queer Connections will be focused on the mid-semester slump! We will chat about staying ahead of your work and working through the mid-semester slump! Come and participate in stress relief activities such as coloring, nail polish painting, playing with play dough and stress balls.

Queer Connections: Ending the Semester
Tuesday, Nov. 28
4-6 p.m. | Intersection Multicultural Lounge

This month’s Queer Connections will be focused on engaging in family life after being in college for a semester. Come learn from staff and upper class students on ways to deal with re-entering and returning to the community you left behind several months ago.
