Parents and Family Members

You’ve been there for your student. Now “being there” means allowing and encouraging your student to manage his or her responsibilities, needs, and disability. Students need the support, but not the control, of parents and other family members.  Such involvement as it relates to University life most often involves advising and encouraging the college life from the sidelines.  Only the most extreme circumstances, such as those that seriously threaten the health of the student, allow for direct parental or other family involvement.  Please read our “Before We Get Started…” page focused on the students.
