Elections Commission

The Elections Commission is the independent body that is responsible for conducting and overseeing the annual student body election and inauguration.

This Commission is headed by the elections commissioner, who is appointed by the student body president. The commission also consists of the deputy elections commissioner and seven to nine assistant elections commissioners. All members of the Elections Commission have been confirmed by the Student Senate.

Interested in running for a position in Student Government? Attend the first Candidate Interest Meeting on November 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Senate Chambers (Russell House 322/326) to learn about student body elections, eligibility requirements, and the campaigning process.

Senate Positions:
The 50-member Student Senate is divided into districts, represented by academic colleges.
Candidates campaign to represent a particular college and only run against others within the same college.
The number of seats is divided as follows:
