Health Screenings for Students

We offer free walk-in services, including blood pressure screenings and percentage body fat analysis. The body fat analysis is a non-invasive procedure using a hand-held device that electronically estimates body fat from body water. Our free services take only a few minutes.
Cholesterol and blood glucose screenings are available for a fee. This service is provided by the Center for Health and Well-Being lab. Once lab results are processed and reviewed, we provide a consultation to go over these results. We will discuss lifestyle changes that will have a positive impact on your health and provide referrals as necessary.
Appointments Walk-in services including percentage body fat analysis and blood pressure screenings do not require an appointment. Call us at 803-576-9393 to schedule an appointment for a cholesterol screening. Fasting for 8 hours is required before conducting lab work for a cholesterol screening.
Costs Cholesterol and blood glucose screenings vary, depending on the type of health insurance you have. Please call the Center for Health and Well-Being lab at 803-777-3958 for pricing information. Percentage body fat analysis and blood pressure screenings are free.
Location The Campus Wellness office is located in the lower level of the Strom Thurmond Fitness & Wellness Center. Lab work for the cholesterol and blood glucose screening will be conducted at the Center for Health and Well-Being, behind the Russell House Student Union.
