About the Laboratory
Lab services are dedicated to our patients and the health care providers responsible for their clinical management. Our goal is prompt and confidential patient services, while protecting the rights of every patient to quality results.
We are able to meet all the laboratory testing needs of our patients through a combination of Stat In-House Testing and reference laboratory partners including Laboratory Corporation of America, Professional Pathology Services, Diatherix, and Oxford.
Our in-house testing covers the acute medical needs of our patients. In House testing includes CBC with differential, mono testing, basic and complete metabolic panels, pregnancy (hCG), urinalysis, direct microscopic evaluations, rapid strep, rapid influenza, hemoglobin A1c. Quality Improvement Program
Our Quality Improvement Program monitors and evaluates the ongoing and overall quality of the total testing process. This includes all of the activities involved in pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processing of patient samples to assure accurate, reliable patient test results.
Risk Assessment and individualized quality control plans for all testing performed "In House."
Proficiency Testing: Three times a year, samples from the American Proficiency Institute are tested and graded for accuracy.
Personnel Competency: Competency of all testing personnel is achieved through training goals, ongoing evaluation and continuing education.
The Laboratory is open an during normal operating hours for the Student Health Service, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
