Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention Awarded Community Partner of the Year
USC’s Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention received a Community Partner of the Year award from Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands.
The award is given to an individual or organization that has made a substantial contribution in the past year to achieving STSM’s mission, which is to serve survivors of sexual violence and to work to end sexual violence in our community.
In the letter STSM sent to SAVIP acknowledging their award, they noted the long history of effective collaboration between the two organizations, including providing support for sexual assault survivors and helping to train volunteer advocates.
STSM also recognized SAVIP’s partnership in the recently launched Bar Outreach Project, which helps recruit and train volunteers to help spread awareness about substance-facilitated assault in local bars and restaurants to ultimately make our communities safer.
SAVIP will be celebrated at the Walk a Mile in Their Shoes on April 6 at the SC Statehouse.
