Graduate Student Association president wins leadership award

The University Leadership Experience Award committee of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) has announced Clint Saidy as a winner of the 2018 SAMPE University Leadership Experience Award.

Saidy was one of only 11 honorees in a record-setting year of applications. Winners receive transportation and lodging to attend the 2018 SAMPE North America Conference and Exhibition in Long Beach, California, where they will network with peers and industry professionals and increase their understanding of the materials and processes community.

Saidy is a second-year PhD student in mechanical engineering. Prior to being elected president of the USC Graduate Student Association, he was the secretary of International Student Affairs. He has also been a graduate advisor for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and a member of the Rotaract Club of the University of South Carolina.
