As assistant director of development, Sara Shealy supports the management and operations of Development through lead annual and major gift fundraising and assists with all fundraising initiatives for the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support, including engaging alumni, parents, and friends. She also oversees the Parents Annual Fund and assists with the Parents Advisory Council.
Sara joined the Department of Student Life in March 2017. Previously, she served as senior development coordinator at the Columbia Museum of Art (CMA). There she was the liaison for the Columbia Design League and managed annual giving and event-based fundraising, specifically the Chamber Music on Main concert series and the annual Gala. Prior to her time at the CMA, Sara held rewarding positions at The Johnson Collection and Spartanburg Art Museum.
Originally from Chapin, S.C., Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a minor in Economics from Wofford College. As the daughter of USC alumni, she is an avid Gamecock sports fan and has been for as long as she can remember. Sara is honored to finally be a Gamecock herself.
