Questions about disaster relief? We’re here to help!

In partnership with South Carolina Legal Services (SCLS), we are pleased to offer the following consultations and educational programming to fee-paying students on the following matters:

• landlord-tenant
• housing
• consumer protection
• probate law
• domestic relations
• employment law

Issues that cannot be discussed with the attorney include personal injury, real estate law (except landlord-tenant), commercial law, alcohol and substance abuse violations, malpractice claims, criminal defense, immigration and tax work. Under no circumstances will consultations or representation be provided in disputes against USC, its officials and employees or other USC students. Students with these types of concerns will be referred to the South Carolina Bar Lawyer Referral Service.

Please fill out the form to request legal help and it will be forwarded directly SCLS. Students must be currently enrolled and will need to present their Carolina Card at each visit.

The Student Legal Services office is located inside the Russell House West Wing on the lower level, room 044. The office is staffed, on campus, Monday and Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. during the fall and spring semester. Appointments are preferred, but drop-ins will be accommodated, if possible. Other times are available by appointment only; please complete the online intake form to initiate this request. During the months of June and July, services are available by appointment only.

For matters outside of our scope of services, students will be referred through the South Carolina Bar Lawyer Referral Service.
