Dennis Pruitt to receive award as outstanding student affairs officer
Vice President for Student Affairs Dennis Pruitt has been selected to receive the John Jones Award for Outstanding Performance as a Senior Student Affairs Officer from NASPA Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education – Region III.
University projects recognized with awards
The Visitor Center's Web-based virtual tour received a CASE Award of Excellence in the Web design and implementation category and placed first among Web sites in the SCPA competition. Assistance was provided by University Technology Services, Web Communications, University Publications, and Marketing and Communications.

Brewer Announced as Mr. Pi Kappa Phi 2010
Jerry T. Brewer, Sigma (South Carolina), has been selected as Mr. Pi Kappa Phi 2010. For more than 30 years, Jerry has faithfully served the fraternity in a number of different roles, most impressively, serving on three of Pi Kappa PhiÕs four national boards including terms as National President and Chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees. He is the first recipient of the Mr. Pi Kappa Phi award from Sigma chapter.

The University of South Carolina's Columbia campus has been named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service learning and civic engagement.
