Director of Student Media
Department of Student Life
University of South Carolina
Office: Russell House 331
As director of Student Media, Sarah Scarborough oversees the operation of The Daily Gamecock student newspaper, Garnet and Black magazine, SGTV student television and WUSC-FM. In this role, she works closely with all four student-run media organizations, providing leadership and support as each area continues to evolve in the rapidly changing media landscape.
Sarah also manages four full-time staff and a student-led advertising team. Student Media provides students from all majors the opportunity to become involved in everything from writing, photography and design to hosting a radio program. In addition to serving as an outlet for extracurricular activities, involvement in Student Media has also helped countless students build their resumes and secure employment after graduation.
Sarah came to USC in December 2010 and served as the advertising manager for 14 years before moving into her current role. Previously, she worked for The State newspaper and freelanced for various production companies. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina in 1993.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys traveling, cooking and the occasional Netflix binge.
